Description
This is a collection of simulations following the TIP ESM and WhatIf MIP Experimental Design. The basis is investigating the vulnerability and response to possible Tipping Points in the Earth System under idealized warming of 2C and 4C above Pre Industrial climate. The simulations are Emission Driven with warming achieved through Ramp Up of emissions at 10 PgC/year, along with Zero Emission Commitments (ZEC), and Ramp Down of emissions at -10 PgC/year. Additional simulations investigate the carbon and climate response of Vegetation responses such as Tropical Forest transition to Savanna from drought and heat, or the poleward expansion of the Boreal Forest, and from fresh water influxes from Icesheet melt such as may happen with Greenland or Antarctica.
