Professional Information

John Halley Gotway is a Software Engineer IV at the National Science Foundation National Center for Atmospheric Research (NSF NCAR). He has worked within the Research Applications Laboratory (RAL) and the Developmental Testbed Center (DTC) since 2004 and is instrumental in the design, development, application, and support of the Model Evaluation Tools (MET) and METplus software packages which evaluate the quality of Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) model output.

John serves in the following roles:

  • RAL Engineering Deputy
  • Lead engineer for the MET NWP verification software
  • Senior engineer for the METplus NWP verification suite
