    Personal profile

    Research interests

Dr. Qian’s research focuses on the physics, dynamics, and electrodynamics of the ionosphere, thermosphere, and mesosphere (ITM), with an emphasis on understanding their variability and coupling processes. This includes investigations of space weather and space climate, as well as the coupling between the lower and upper atmosphere. She has extensive experience in numerical modeling and has worked with several state-of-the-art models, including the Thermosphere-Ionosphere Electrodynamics General Circulation Model (TIE-GCM), the Thermosphere-Ionosphere-Mesosphere Electrodynamics General Circulation Model (TIME-GCM), and the Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model with thermosphere and ionosphere extension (WACCM-X).
