I am a research scientist specializing in radar observation assimilation within the MPAS-JEDI data assimilation (DA) framework. My current work focuses on improving the initial conditions of the MWP model to enhance convective-scale forecasts by assimilating dual-polarization radar data using the JEDI LETKF algorithm. Previously, I worked extensively on assimilating ground-based radar observations and satellite-based lightning data from the GOES-R Geostationary Lightning Mapper (GLM) using both Ensemble Kalman Filter (EnKF) and variational DA techniques. I am passionate about advancing severe weather forecasting through innovative data assimilation methodologies.
