Biography

Walker uses climate models to study climate intervention: deliberate, large-scale modifications to the climate to offset the impacts of global warming, usually by reflecting sunlight to cool the planet. At NSF NCAR, Walker designs simulations to evaluate the benefits and risks of different intervention strategies, conducts those simulations with NCAR's climate model (the CESM), and coordinates with other modeling centers to run model intercomparisons.
