Abstract

The Content Standards (CS) Implementation Team is part of the Common Model Architecture (CMA) Implementation Team (IT) which sits under the ICAMS Earth System Modeling and Prediction Subcommittee (ESMP) of the Committee on Research and Innovation (CoRI). The members of CS explore ways that ICAMS climate and weather prediction models can identify and develop common standards for next generation software infrastructure. Originally, CS led the definition of the National Unified Operational Prediction Capability (NUOPC) Interoperability Layer for model construction and coupling. CS has since defined a unified Physics Constants Dictionary and looked at unification of model workflows. We recently completed an overview of build systems among ICAMS models. As in other ICAMS groups, members volunteer their time based on interest in the topic and meet monthly to share progress and discuss paths forward. CS is actively looking for new members and updating its charter.
