A micro-scale and stochastic vehicles flow generator based on detected traffic flow

Abstract

The vehicles generator is one of the fundamental models of traffic simulation system and it provides traffic flow distribution over a period, including Poisson distribution, binomial distribution, negative binomial distribution, etc.. Two factors are considered including distribution functions and detected flow data, and a vehicle generator of micro-scale is proposed based on detection period. Finally Beijing traffic flow data are applied and analyzed by this generator and the result indicates that this method can generate simulating vehicles flow conformed to actual observation flow.
