Abstract
The concept of installing a meteorological Doppler radar on an aircraft to study mesoscale phenomena in remote regions or over the ocean was first proposed by Lhermite (1971). Thus, airborne doppler radar systems have evolved beyond Lhermite's pioneering vision. This paper presents Airborne Doppler radar users experiences and methodology in data analysis and their visions for future development of these radar systems.
