Abstract
The verification of quantitative precipitation forecasts is discussed using object oriented approach. The Bow Echo and mesoscale convective Vortex Experiment (BAMEX) provides baseline for object-oriented technique to predict verification of forecasts. The original large-scale evaluation identifies irregularly shaped object in WRF over the Great lakes region. The WRF forecast apparently overforecasts size of region of light rain or overforecasts intensity of light rain areas.
