Abstract

POLDIRAD is a C-band polarimetric Doppler radar at DLR Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. First measurements using this system were made during a three week period in August 1998. Wind vectors were retrieved successfully in both clear-airand precipitation. In addition, some studies using different transmit polarizations were successfully completed.
