Abstract

The comparison between pollution aerosol chemistry-transport model simulations was made with lidar and sun-photometer observations at Sirta site. Measurements used in the comparison have been performed in Palaiseau, by two different instruments, a backscatter lidar and sun-photometer. In order to compare lidar data with model outputs, the lidar signal was directly simulated from the model aerosol vertical profiles. The comparison with sun-photometer measurements shows that the model tends to underestimate the monthly mean values of AOT by more that 20% in spring and up to 50% in summer.
