Abstract

The simple Gaussian correction model (SGCM) compensation algorithm is described. The scheme includes identifying ground clutter with the anomalous propagation (AP) Detection Algorithm and selectively applying ground clutter filters to the effected regions. This scheme is tested on real (WSR-88D) in-phase and quadrature data that are processed using autocovariance calculations and clutter filters that emulate the WSR-88D processor.
