Abstract
Software aimed at facilitating statistical extreme value analysis is increasingly abun dant, as well as becoming increasingly refined. This chapter provides a summary of available software tools with an emphasis on the numerous packages of R because it is a freely available open-source statistical language and environment that has be come the language most used by academic statisticians.
