Abstract

The May Polarization Experiment (MAYPOLE) was jointly conducted by Colorado State University, The Ohio State University and the National Center for Atmospheric Research during the time period May 1-June 15, 1983 in the vicinity of Denver, CO. This paper discusses differential reflectivity measurements obtained by the NCAR CP-2 radar system in convective cells. Simultaneous microphysical data was obtained using the Wyoming King Air aircraft operated by NCAR/Research Aviation Facility.
