Abstract
The development of a fast-running urban airflow model, realistic urban spread and transport of intrusive contaminants (RUSTIC), to model transport and dispersion of contaminants was discussed. RUSTIC combined the continuity and thermodynamic equations into a single pressure tendency equation. RUSTIC flow and turbulence fields were passed to a second code named MESO which was based on Lagrangian stochastic tracer techniques, to model transport and dispersion contaminants. The results show that RUSTIC and MESO are valuable tool set for the prediction of urban dispersion.
