Abstract
Large amplitude mesoscale gravity waves are relatively rare events in the atmosphere. On February 14, 1992, a large amplitude mesoscale gravity wave, and associated precipitation band, propagated across the dual-Doppler network of the STORMFEST project, providing the first opportunity to examine the three dimensional structure of the mesoscale wave. A detailed analysis of the kinematic and thermodynamic structure of this wave determined from dual-Doppler synthesis and thermodynamic retrieval techniques is presented.
