Abstract
The 1984 Summer Colloquium was conducted from 11 June to 20 July 1984, combining 4 weeks of seminars and discussion at NCAR with a two week American Meteorological Society (AMS) intensive course on Mesoscale Meteorology held at the University of Colorado (Cosponsored by the Co-operative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies and the Environmental Research Laboratories of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). In the NCAR portion of the program, the author emphasized the fundamental aspects of mesoscale dynamics, including the mechanisms which produce significant mesoscale weather events, the dynamic processes which govern their evolution, and the scale interactions which modulate the energetics of disturbances throughout the mesoscale.-from STAR, 23(22), 1985
