Abstract
Satellite and radar cloud retrieval methods were evaluated during IMPROVE-2 icing events. Consistency between satellite- and radar-derived properties was also examined. Information regarding liquid water content, particle size distribution, and particle phase information was collected from Convair-580 sensors. The results were compared with coincident aircraft measurements of cloud bulk and microphysical properties.
