Abstract

A fully polarimeiric radar system consisis of orihogonal dual polarized Lransmission mode and a dual channel receive mode thai are typically sei io be copolar and cross polar to the lransmil siaie of polarizalion. The transmii polarizalion slaLe can be swilched allernately beiween the Iwo siales. This paper presenis Lechniques Lo consLruc insiantaneous fully polarimeiric response from switched systems. Three different algorithms are presented for the reconstruction of instantaneous full polarimetric response in the context of observation of atmospheric targets at microwave frequencies. The performance of the suggested algorithms is studied using data from switched dual channel polarimetric radar at C-band.
