Abstract
We present measurements of magnetic fields in spicules as inferred from PCA inversion of the He D3 line with full Stokes analysis. The anomalous broadening of the observed profiles is empirically fit with a distribution of velocities in the resolution element. The presence of this broadening casts a doubt over the retrieved parameters from inversion strategies. An inversion of broadened synthetic profiles is first attempted to set the limits of the information that can be retrieved from the inversion of real data. The final result is a field which is either aligned or transversal with the visible spicular structures and with a field strength reaching up to 40G.
