Abstract
A 2-dimensional, primitive equation model with a high resolution planetary boundary layer formulation was used to study the relationship between the circulation induced by the differential thermal forcing at a coast and the depth of the well mixed layer over the land. Results from the 3-dimensional experiments are then presented illustrating the development of sea and bay breeze circulations in a coastal region characterized by complicated land-sea boundaries.-from STAR, 17(18), 1979
