Abstract
In this paper we further develop the concept of modulation of the linear-polarization signals of hydrogen lines, which was defined in a previous work. After discussing some general properties of the modulation, we consider the application to two problems of particular concern in solar physics, namely, the distinction between the cases of parallel and perpendicular electric and magnetic fields, and the definition of a Stark-sensitivity parameter for hydrogen lines.
