Abstract
The plans of Utah State University College (USU) of Engineering student Society of Women Engineers (SWE) section to develop a mentoring program to help Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts and high school girls to have interest in science and engineering, are discussed. Planning of this project was done using a logic model formulation. It is found that the girls scouts came out of the workshop with a more positive view of engineering and the potential for women to make contribution in the field. The SWE members and older girls scouts increased their technical knowledge and collegiality by being in charge of preparation and the implementation of the workshop.
