Abstract

The Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) satellite was launched to improve both temporal and spatial sampling of tropical precipitation. In order to understanding and interpret the measurements obtained from the instruments deployed on the TRMM satellite, they have to be compared and validated with ground-based measurements. This article discusses a study on the precipitation regime in the region surrounding Guam. The study focuses on understanding the characteristics of precipitation during the rainy season.
