Sampling effects on radar measurements and rain rate estimation

Research output: AbstractPaperpeer-review

Abstract

The sampling effects on radar measurements and rain rate estimation were presented. A two level DSD model was proposed and illustrated for calculating statistical moments. Results showed that the variations of DSD contributed to the over-estimation of statistical moments and biased the parameter retrieval. The model and numerical results were applied to radar rain estimation with a range correction.
