Abstract

Early in 1994, a new Silicon Vertex Detector (SVD) will be installed in the CLEO I1 experiment at the Cornell e+e-storage ring CESR. This device consists of three concentric layers of planar, double-sided silicon strip detectors containing a total of 26,624 analog channels. In this paper we describe the SVD data acquisition system which provides the link between the signals on individual silicon strips and the existing CLEO II readout system.
