Abstract

The Trace Organic Gas Analyzer is a fast GC/MS technique that incorporates some novel technologies and is capable of measuring over 80 VOCs continuously including formaldehyde, HCN, and other species rarely accessed by the GC/MS method. TOGA measurements of formaldehyde have compared well to established techniques. TOGA has recently been deployed on the NSF WE-CAN project and successfully measured key fire tracers and determined their chemical evolution in plumes as well as emission factors.
