Abstract
The aim of this work was to determine whether a simple linear model of the tropical Pacific Ocean could simulate the major features of both the equatorial eastern boundary response and the equatorial current system. This analysis was performed using a linear, one-layer, reduced-gravity transport model on an equatorial BETA-plane. Thermodynamic and thermohaline effects were neglected in the model. (from paper)
