Abstract

We have shown that it is possible to construct instantaneous full polarimetric response of meteorological targets at microwave frequencies from switched polarimetric measurements in the form of an instantaneous scattering matrix (ISM). The instantaneous full polarimetric response can then be subsequently tranformed to any arbitrary polarization basis. Radar data collected during the summers of 1990 by the DLR-C-band radar located in Germany were used to qualitatively validate the polarization transformation technique.
