    Abstract

    Specializing NWP for Wind and Solar Energy Prediction at NCAR: Advanced weather model (NCAR WRF): NCAR WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting). Four-dimensional data assimilation (FDDA): NCAR WRF Real-time FDDA technology. Mesoscale and microscale NWP capabilities: Ultra-high-res "birds-eye" view of wind/solar power plants. Cloud and aerosol analysis and prediction: Precision ground solar radiation forecasting power. Ensemble-based probabilistic prediction: Quantify prediction uncertainties.
